I haven’t really been testing my sugar levels recently just plodding along. When I do test them they are mostly in the 5s or low 6s. So I was away for the weekend visiting my daughter and knew I would be eating out. I was staying in a hotel she’s a student and no way was I staying in halls. Eating out does stress me out mainly as I don’t really have control of the cooking. I decided before went I was just going to eat whatever I wanted and sort it out when I got back home. So that’s what i did you name it I probably ate it fast food, chocolate, crisps, cake plus carb overload. Anyway I came home today to face the finger prick and check the damage. My reading was 4 checked it again 15 mins later and it was 4.3 it did scare me a bit my readings have never been that low. I did feel a bit strange I wasn’t hungry but knew I needed to eat something so I did. So back to testing again from tomorrow to see what’s going on well when the new test strips arrive because of course I’ve run out.

What medication are you taking?

Eating out is tricky. Last weekend we had a family day out in town and decided on TGI’s for lunch. I had forgotten to take my insulin with me so ordered chicken and salad (had to order as two appetisers as didn’t have a salad section on the menu and grossly overpriced at £4 for a tiny side salad consisting of mainly salad leaves) anyway, when I got home and tested my BSL was 10.4 and has been in the 5-7 range for weeks now. Very disappointed with choice of restaurant!

Oh - I assumed that you were on a glucose reducing medication.
No need to worry about going down to 4 I'd have thought, not when you then saw 4.3.
