For some reason my place of work has introduced a biscuit tin in the kitchen. I tried to ignore it but eventually gave in. Deep joy, today the tin was full of ginger nut biscuits I could happily leave them alone. Now it is a matter of putting will power in gear.

Love a proper ginger biscuit, Ringtone Tea do a very tasty one with a nice crunch, Sainsbury's also sell a delicious ginger biscuit covered in dark chocolate, make is Border.

Sorry @Sharron1 probably not helping things writing that but ginger biscuits have always been one of my fav.

Yum..even though my all time favourite biscuit is the Bourbon I do love a good ginger nut.

Same with Bourbon for me! And milk chocolate digestives :D

A colleague and I used to have a running joke, anytime we made a cup of tea at work one of us would go "you know what is missing here? some biscuits". One day he showed up with a pack of biscuits, and since then he is been buying every now and then. The thing is he barely eats any. I really enjoyed them at the beginning, now I don´t have the heart to tell him not to buy more...usually I have a couple for the first day or two and leave the rest to be stolen by some other colleague

No need to apologise, the problem with ginger nuts is the worry I will crack my teeth...

So much of me is breaking these days, cracked teeth due to a ginger nut is something I will avoid!!!

Well done on your restraint.

I forgot to bring my protein (cheese or ham) for my salad today so can see me giving into the temptation of the box of chocolate biscuits that have been left near my desk... will try to minimise the number I eat though!

I am avoiding biscuit tin, not easy I want to rip the lid off. What annoys me is prior to diagnosis of d, I didn't even eat biscuits.

Your restraint is amazing - I would be dunking them in a cuppa if I was concerned with cracked teeth.

Have to admit, nothing to do with restraint. More the cost of dental work if l crack a tooth even with dunking!! Lovely dentist but it ain't cheap.

Had a couple of Rich Tea biscuits yesterday thinking that's only about 5 g carbs total. But no - 9 g each o_O
Good to know if I see a hypo approaching that I can have a couple of these.

While they could be useful to stave off a hypo, biscuits are not useful for treating a hypo as the fat in them slows down glucose absorption.
But that is not the only time to eat biscuits - you can carb count snacks in the same way as meals.
(And 9g is on the lower end compared to some biscuits.)

Milk chocolate digestives are 10g EACH. Plain digestives are 9g each. Guess my choice?!!! I am becoming an expert in all sorts of stuff.

It depends on the carb/protein/fat ratio, the type of carb and fat and the individual's lifestyle. These biscuits had 77g carbs to 15 g fat and that's not enough to slow glucose uptake - I spiked after 20 mins so somewhere between sweeties and starchy foods. A chunk of cheddar may have slowed it down!

Also I'm a low-carber and get a longer BG increase due to the gluconeogenesis from fat - an ideal follow up for a hypo after a glucose drink.

I have a packet of ginger biscuits , I have one if my levels are starting to drop below 4.9 , at 7g carbs per biscuit it is enough to raise them slightly then stabilise them. Feels like a naughty treat too .

I don’t really eat biscuits and I’m very envious of all of you, I’m super sensitive to everything, if I’m a bit low I may have half a rich tea which is wild for me and my pack are 6 carbs per biscuit last time I looked, tbh they are old and probably a bit soft
