Confession time. Celebrated my birthday, oh my, I ate so much and then some more. Most of which wouldn't appear anywhere close to a low carb menu. It was all wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed. Am now back on the better low carb wagon, until next July. Hba1c due in December, should have recovered by then.

Belated birthday wishes.
Sounds like you had a lovely day and are ready for the next year.

But there is no need for confessions or guilt. It was one day and not just any day. It was your
Thank you.
That will do for me. My goodness it was lovely

I was diagnosed with type 2 a year ago this month. I was surprised to get my first annual review in December but turned out they are now migrating reviews to birthday month. However the advantage if it is first couple of weeks in December is avoid my birthday and Christmas or would it be better for my health to have review a few days after my birthday?

Glad you enjoyed yours.

Easier to make your mind up to manage your BG Ok every day you can, I eventually concluded ..... though the 4 weeks immediately preceding the blood draw for your HbA1c 'carry the most weight'.

I like to think I am sensible and know that the HbA1C test is just a number the NHS needs at least once a year and what happens in between tests has just as much impact on my body.
However, in a similar vein, I floss my teeth for the month before my dentist appointment but am a tad more relaxed the rest of the year. I clean my teeth at least twice a day regardless of dentists. Hopefully, that does most of the good that is needed.
Just like testing my BG every day and taking my insulin.

I am the same, you can also add that I attend the various NHS screenings when I receive my invitation letter. Although I am aware it is a screening of that moment and not the five years between each one
