Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Today is my 64th birthday and I have just had my latest tests review with the DSN at my local surgery, she has confirmed that I am now officially in remission having achieved an HbA1c of 46 without medication. On top of that she has also said that I don't need statins as my blood pressure is now back below 120/80 and as my cholesterol is at 4.9 she is happy for me to continue doing what I have been doing for the last nine months.
None of it would have been possible without the help and guidance provided by the fantastic people on these forums so thank you, the support here for everyone, not just me, is without doubt the best thing someone with diabetes could ask for.

Many congratulations on your fantastic results and best of luck maintaining your remission. So pleased you found the forum really helpful (I know I would have been lost without the support and insight provided by members here) and thanks for posting your results as this thread will inspire and encourage people who are just newly diagnosed as to what can be achieved with the right approach and the will to change.
Well done!

That's a great set of results, and what a fantastic birthday pressie. Thanks for sharing. Time to edit your relationship to diabetes on your profile?

Well done, what a great birthday present!

Absolutely wonderful to hear, congratulations and happy birthday!

New around here still, but will 100% agree the support here is fantastic and seeing successes like this helps so much.

Congratulations on a brilliant HbA1c result and getting your BP and cholesterol down. You have put a lot of time and effort to achieve this. Great to hear how supportive you feel the forum folks are. I totally agree with you. They truly get how it is living with diabetes whatever type you have been diagnosed with.
