hi.

So I have a huge event I'm running on Thursday. We have guests from the film industry coming, and our alumni students buying tickets. It's at a bar, we've booked a room.

It's pick food rather than a sit down meal. And an open bar. I don't normally drink but was planning on having a glass of wine.

I was planning on relying on my libre for the event because I don't know how I will feel about getting my sugar tester out and picking my finger all evening. But the handset has stopped worked and although abbot will send a new one out im sure, it would need to arrive by Wednesday because I leave at 7am on Thursday. Pretty sure that's not going to happen. Not sure how the guests would feel about me pricking my finger every 1/2 hour or so. Normally I wouldn't care, but this is a huge networking event. And for those who think I'll be testing too much, I've had a bad few hypos last few weeks and my sugars have been changing so rapidly. Last thing I need is to have a hypo at this event.

Any advice for me? I should probably not drink the wine. I don't really drink alcohol so I have no clue how it will affect my sugars.

I have no clue if I'll go high because of stress and snacking or low because I have been. Don't know how to carb count finger food. Do you just give yourself a little bit of insulin every time you eat? How do you know how much you're eating? Sorry, I don't really do finger food.

I'd eat and when you think you've had - what? about 20g carb? - give yourself a quick bolus. I certainly wouldn't bolus before eating any of it.

This is a one-off, so no worries if you go a bit high - but complete mayhem if you go low.
