Good news and bad news........

After having thought I had tightened things up a bit, and having lots of hypos, I expected an HbA1c below 8%, however I went up from 8.2% to 8.5%.......:(

Had a wee look at my eye photos and the mild maculopathy isnt as bad as I thought...........I couldnt actually see antything, neither could the consultant really....🙂....on the eye photos...

Alll other tests were good.....🙂...apart from my BP that was still slightly high....so going on a 24 hr BP test, again....to make sure whether I need more meds....

The biggest news though its that my PCT, Lanarkshire have got 18 pumps to give away, in the adult clinic alone, and both consultants in the clinic have agreed I should be on one, and are putting the ball in motion.....

I still need to go to the PUMP cinic for an assessment, but I know all the nurses up there and it is looking good to get one.....

I think I overwhelmed them all with my printed out BG diary, from the DAFNE website, daily calorie intake and graphs of calorie intake and BG by month........so they know I am making more effort than anyone ever....

So, hopefully I will be in the pumping section soon asking for help 24/7....😉

Great news on the pump NRB - hope the application goes smoothly and quickly.

Sorry to hear about the tiny rise in A1c. Hope the first post-pump stays steady and the ones after that begin to come down.

Terrific news about the pump prospects NRB! 🙂 I'm sure that you would get into the low 7s or 6s with one of those 🙂

I so hope you get a pump, good luck x

thanks guys, really excited tbh............🙂

Yaaaaaa! I am supporting all potential pumpers, also hope to be getting one!

And will really look forward to seeing your success, it's rotten sometimes, however hard we try, results don't seem to improve - I'm sure they will! Best of luck!

Sounds good NRB

You sound like you will never look back once you get our hands on a pump.

Hope it comes soon....like your baby. Just noticed due date is VERY NEAR!😱🙂

You really do deserve a pump after putting all that effort in. From the little I understand about pumps you are more than halfway there doing all the tests and monitoring. Well done you and good luck with the pump application and imminent baby!

Thank you all for your kind words...........

The baby is going to be here on Monday at some point, so watch this space.....:D

Good luck on pump prospects and with expected arrival!

Brilliant news re the pump! :D In the meantime, my doc always says 'get rid of the lows to get rid of the highs' as often the highs are post hypo due to liver dump or the old excessive hypo-hamster munchies! Might be worth looking at your records to see if you can spot a pattern at any time of the day of lows before the highs?

All the very best wishes to you & your family for the speedy safe arrival of your little'un - exciting times all round! 🙂

I think the biggest benefit for you on a pump NRB, will be the opportunity of *finally* beating the DP. Hope it comes soon!

I agree, the DP has resulted in little tweaks of my background as well as quicker acting insulin, so with the pump, I should be able to start using my insulin normally.......that's the plan anyway.....:D.....

Twitchy, 9 times out of 10 I treat my hypos with 15g only, but it has been known for me to go mental occasionally..., 2 nights ago actually, but it was 12:30am and I was 2.0..........I have recently increased my dinner ratio due to high pre bed readings, it worked for a few days then I started going low, so need to go back down and look at my AM basal dose now.......😡.......

For some reason I expect to be putting up a small fight when I go for the pre pump assessment, so I will be prepared, and if there is no fight, then its a bonus....

Again, thank you all for your kind words.....🙂

That is wonderful news about a pump - you are not that far from me and recently there has been even more money set aside from the Scottish Government (after lots of petitions!) to fund pump therapy up here, because there are not many available! So glad they are putting things in motion for you.

Bummer about the HBa1C but I hope the above will be sorted with that! 🙂

Great news NRB........I am absolutely certain you will benefit from a pump and your next A1c will be lower, followed by the next one which will be your best ever! 🙂
