Should a morning BG test be done before or after taking your meds. ?
current meds:- Atorvastatin 10mg,
Gliclazide 40mg,
Metformin 750mg twice a day
Lercanidipine 10mg,
Perindopril 4mg
HbA1c January 2017 was 53 and BP 128/81

As far as I'm aware as it's a waking bg you do it before doing anything else, I do anyway x

Hi Angela.
Yup im with Kaylz first thing I do when I wake . Well accept open my eyes of course

You might want to check with your GP or pharmacist but I thought Atorvastatin should be taken in the evening?

The key thing is to record your morning blood glucose level before eating. Oral diabetes medications don't change blood glucose levels in minutes. Only short acting insulin does that.

Nope I've been on it 2 years my doc knows I take mine in the am and has never said that's wrong

When I went to pick up my stuff at the pharmacy the other day, the chappie in there had his little chat with me as they do now, and said that it doesn't matter what time of day you take it. This was after I said I take mine in the evening, because that's how I've always done it and it's a routine now. I was told originally that it worked best that way.

Interesting, thank you. Apologies for the digression Angela.
