There has been some discussion on several threads about stress affecting BG levels.

The last few days I have been in a high stress situation. My overnight level tested in the morning is currently around 11 rather than its usual 6. I am having to increase the amount of insulin for the food intake about twice the usual. I know that when the stress level decreases then it will all suddenly revert back to normal and drop me into a hypo.

I have been playing this game for a long time so don't need advice about control but have put the numbers on in the hope that it will reassure members that even playing for a long time sometimes the numbers don't make sense and this is often due to stress whether you know you are suffering with it or not.

In this case I know what is causing the stress and it will resolve so don't need support here either🙂. Covid seems to have caused stress to a lot of people so I expect I have also some from that as well

Good luck people and try and take life easy.

Well stress does cause havoc with BG but the trouble is, when it's the same stress you've been under for a long time, it's often difficult to realise that though eg you've worked there for 20 years or still got the same concerning family members whose behaviour still hasn't improved for whatever reasons - NOW, it DOES affect your BG, even though it apparently hasn't before.

Plus as you say - not a single one of us has ever experienced a pandemic like the one we're all experiencing right now and it is difficult to remain optimistic overall for everyone at this stage of it, whether you're 5 or 95.

As Terry Pratchett told us, a good few years ago now, we live in interesting times!
