Ethan Rass will enter first grade Tuesday with a new outfit, a backpack filled with pencils and notebooks and an insulin pen.
The 6-year-old Beverly Hills boy was diagnosed last November with Type 1 diabetes. That means several insulin shots a day, watching what he eats and having his blood-sugar level checked 6-8 times a day.
It’s a huge adjustment for someone who just learned how to ride a bike without training wheels. So far, he’s handled the situation with flying colors.
