Well started at 9.0 had beef stew and brussel sprouts ..I didnt have any of the root veg or dumpling and .....2hrs later BG 9.4 so I am happy but defo no carbs for me .....now to work out how to get those starting levels down ....ideas please folks thanks 🙂
 
Well, as someone else said elsewhere - you can try a bit of protein before bed - and again first thing in the morning rather than waiting for breakfast time after you've sorted yourself out - these are only 'bits' not meals. That might help stop the morning rise - but if that doesn't work then it probably needs help from elsewhere ie the doc.

All you can do is try.
 
Remember to be patient @am64 - don't get frustrated if things take a little while, all your efforts will be worth it! 🙂
 
yes i know Northe must be patient......but i have taken your advice trophy and woke this morning to 8.5 🙂 had just 1x vogel with butter and marmite, lunch was strir fried cicken on bed of baby leaves olive oil and vinegar dressing tested 2 hrs after was 8 then tonight i had stirfry veg with chicken NO CARBS and will be testing shortly ... happy AM 🙂
 
so today is better again waking at 8.7 breakfast 1x toast and peanut butter, lunch last nights chicken and veg stir fry with extra chinese leaves and mushrooms 2hrs after eating 7.5 !! restricting carbs is working and I'm feeling good :D
tonight will be interesting as we getting indian take away ...I'm just going to stick to the veggy curry, bhindi and dhal and see how i get on it will be difficult for me to miss the biryani rice but ...

I'm having home made red Thai chicken curry tonight am and you'll find poppudums only about 4 grams of carb each so you don't feel so deprived! I have one spoonful of rice just to appease myself and it usually works out ok.

It does take a while for your body to eliminate the effects of carbs and morning levels can be the hardest to reduce but it will happen with perseverance! Enjoy your curry! 🙂
 
thank you Amigo we didn't order poppadoms but they often give us one free but.... i WILL be strong and avoid 😉

pat on the back for me ...NO poppadom No rice lots of other lovely curry tho will do test at 8.45 ...started at 8.8 .....was 7.5 2 hours before but somehow it rose even tho all i had was water ...hey ho .that's the mystery of diabetes

Well 2hrs after 11.0 so not too bad ....only do it once in blue moon so still happy 🙂
 
strange day today woke to 9.7 breakfast the usual toast and peanut butter..... lunch salad with a small amount of chicken (wenzel the baker ) then felt totally weird around 4 ish at work ...guessed right to a false hypo checked bloods when got home 7.6 ...had some nuts then supper was fish with dhal and bhindi will test in 1 hour to see how that went down .....note to myself take some nuts to work for a small snack about 4pm !🙄
 
Sorry not been around to post so much recently but all going well in my quest to stay off the insulin and improve my BS. Cutting out all carbs has meant I am now in terms daily range of 7-8 ....I even had a prelunch of 6.2 yesterday !! Going to have Hba1c next week hopefully my results will be good !
