Very old technology - colour matching, unless you buy their meter.
I personally have never heard of either them or their UK distributor, Ambe Medical who have apparently been in business since 1999. Although they say they are not traditional wholesalers they do supply direct to eg hospitals, pharmacies. So presumably that's why their name ism't familiar? Perhaps they have sole marketing rights on certain products, I really don't know!
Incidentally, the link to UK Govt Test Results on Betacheks own website, takes you to a report from the Wolfson Unit, housed within the QE Hospital/Birmingham University campus, so far so good. BUT it only refers to testing some strips in a Roche Reflolux meter, which was one of the old-fashioned "blood on, wait X seconds, wipe blood off, stick in the meter, get your result" type devices which they had used to use in hopsitals; I never had one of them as I couldn't afford one. The next generation Roche meter was of the current type, ie strip in hole, apply blood, get result - the only difference being you needed a fair globule of blood, it took a lot longer and the meter itself was about the size of a paperback book!
Why anyone would want to use such an old-fashioned bit of kit in 2002 (which appears to be the date of the Wolfson's tests) - is beyond me!
I am not knocking their current products at all so please don't get me wrong.
These are just my observations having - fairly quickly - perused Google!
