Hi. I've recently been told I have peripheral neuropathy. 3 weeks later, and it's already quite painful and quite worrying. I wish to try Alpha Lipoic Acid. I understand the R-type is best, but don't really know how much to take, or which one to buy. Does anyone else use ALA, and can you recommend one to buy in the UK please? Thanks in advance!

I don’t have neuropathy but I’ve taken ALA before as a trial. I took the Solgar 200mg ones. The dose for neuropathy is 600-800mg per day so it’s not cheap, but it does work for some people. A relative had neuropathy (non-diabetic) and ALA plus other supplements treated it amazingly well, so it’s worth a try. The R type is supposedly best but it’s pricey, so you could try the normal type first. I got mine on Amazon.
