I have been taking this drug as a part of my high blood pressure treatment (it's a diuretic). I recently mucked up my prescription and didn't get a new supply for a few days. Interestingly I seem to be getting a better nights sleep with a lot fewer loo trips and my finger damage (scabs and peeling skin) seems to be clearing up and fingers crossed, my hard heels are improving. As this pill works by removing water from the body (and you take it in the morning to avoid night time loo trips) I was wondering if anyone else had had problems with it. I intend to go back to my GP shortly to discuss removing it as my blood pressure is controllable without it.

Hi Vic.

I am on Bendroflumethiazide have been for about 8 years now but only a small dose of 2.5mg, alongside my Lisinoprol for my blood pressure.I have no problems other than dry skin and get prescribed E45 cream for that.

John.

I've come off it altogether

A large part of my own problem with blood pressure and diabetes was caused by being downright fat. Having got my BMI down from 46 (well into morbid obesity) to 35 (middle of the obese range), my BP got a bit too low. Doctor has cut out the bendroflumethiazide as it could also have been the cause of low sodium levels as well.
