Yes - I was very sceptical when I heard the claims for these being slow-release, but actually I find they really do work well for me! Like anything, it's important to test your own personal reaction to them using a meter, but I've found one or two are fine - any more than that e.g. the 'recommended' 4 is a bit too much 🙂
I must admit I wrote these off when I saw how much carb they contain, as most things that are meant to be slow release (e.g. porridge) simply aren't for me. Maybe I might give them a try. My experience tells me that it is the total amount of carb that matters more to my levels and how well my fast acting insulin copes with them than how fast or slow they are - a very bad experience with Dreamfields pasta confirmed this!
My favourite snack at the moment is Nature Valley protein bars - but only the salted caramel flavour. At 10g carbs they really don't taste like it. There are two other varieties, popcorn and chocolate chip, but they are a bit lightweight and I don't find them as satisfying - fewer nuts I think. I also love the Nakd gingerbread flavour bars. Although they contain dates they are only 12g in total and don't seem to spike me - probably because they are blended with nuts.
