Just a little update after my leaky kidney scare. I have just got back from my GP who says that the microwhatsits are less than the first few tests that I did, and we need to keep an eye on that. My blood pressure is a little high and so she has given me some Ace inhibitors? Which will apparently protect my kidneys and reduce my BP.
At my request she is going to refer me to a DSN and has left a note to the Diabetic practice nurse to find out if I am able to do a Dafne course.
So feeling a lot more positive!
Mind you my prescription is now looking more like a booklet than a page! I dread to think what my travel insurance will be when I next go away :D
Thanks all of you for helping me through this last few weeks, I will stick around too as I find this site so inspiring.
Cheers!

Sandy thats lovely postive news, dont mention sizes of scripts my uncle is also diabetic and is on 24 diffirent types of meds for one reason or another 😱. Hope the referrel goes ok to

p.s Stick around on this site, surely not it becomes addictive hehe(only joking)

That's good news. I hope you get on the DAFNE course, many people have said they are usefull and you get to meet others in the same or a similar position to you.

That's good news sandy. It sounds like they are on top of things.🙂

Excellent news Sandy! Hope you get to see a proper DSN (and not just a practice nurse who's done a couple of days training in Type 2), and that you can get onto a DAFNE course without too much delay - I'm sure you'll find it very helpful! 🙂

Hurrah for the kidneys too - hope the new pills help (I'm on something similar) 🙂

It is a proper diabetic nurse and not the practice nurse thank goodness, as lovely as she is I want to get better and fast! Anyway, onwards and upwards, will keep you posted 🙂

Ah, that's good news 🙂

Indeed it is! I was all prepared to stamp my feet if I was referred. As it was she saw the sense in it so I didn't have to battle it out 🙂
