i have all ready been found to have a super growth when attending Maxillo luckily that responded but with some kind of knock on but am now also been screened for bowel cancer. i do have a horrible disease of the bowel and something clearly changed coming up to Xmas so will just after hope that this is clear as well.

so basically facing a biopsy for mouth cancer and now bowel cancer on top, well as they say 'these things are meant to try us'

is it just me or when we get mid 50's our parts go haywire?

Im really sorry that you are going through this, take some comfort
that you are getting help from the health service you haven't fallen
through the cracks of this Covid business which my son did last
year I hope that you find people to talk to, to give you courage
and a positive outlook, hang in there Mikey sending you positive
thoughts. xx

I'm also very sorry to read this and I hope very much that you get the all clear.

It is very exhausting being constantly watchful of our health and although it's good that you are getting tested it takes it out of us.

Sending lots of good wishes your way.x

Similar situation mate with the cancer, and being slap bang in the mid fifties. Funny enough i thought that. The Mrs is a bit older than me in her 60's but she is fine. Only person i know who had to prove she was 60 for a b&q card when they were out. My motto is to keep going wit yed down. My boss who worked on the coal wagon when i did would always say that and it kinda stuck with me. Stay positive hope all goes well.

Thinking of you Mikey and yes I agree with you about being over 50. However my husband is 70 and apart from funny blood is as fit as a flea, lucky him!! Much love xx

I'm not sure it's just age, my brush with a precancerous condition was in my early thirties. Having lost both my parents before they were 50 I didn't hold out much hope for myself but apart from the diabetes I've reached 69 without further issues except the usual blood pressure, so count myself VERY lucky.

they are doing something called a stick test not heard of it but think it is going to be yuk 🙂

it has been one tough time over the months but seems things are been caught early although the treatment seems rough as hell. i get one lot over then start again the dreaded one for me will be the mouth biopsy i have been through it before it is afterwards where the fun and pain begin. this time i have been told that they are removing part of the tongue last time they did the biopsy the growth came back so hoping they nip this in the bud more pain 🙄

i am thankful for the well wishes and will update when things get moving, sorry to read of those who have faced the cancer but it is encouraging to read how people are getting through it.

Hi Mikey,

Just wanted to pop in and wish you well, I hope that you're recovery goes smoothly. Do keep us up to date with how you're getting on.

Hello Cherrelle many thanks for the kind wishes. screening sounds so simple but there is also the worry attached to it until you get that report through the post. it is like a biopsy the wait last time was nearly 4 weeks. 4 weeks of recovery but 4 weeks of worry as well.

back to this topic as i have just got a letter from Maxillo for the mouth cancer biopsy service the operation is for the end of March. big downside it is not so far off Easter so for my Easter dinner a poxy tin of big soup followed by a month of soups and ice creams. the hard part is the 4 week wait.
