Hi Smit, Alison is right, I think you should contact your dsn. As it is a diabetes issue then hopefully you will receive appropriate advice and care from the people who actually know about it.

Keep testing and drink plenty of water to try and flush out the ketones, and let us know how things go.

Thanks, decided to call. I know i'm been silly by not calling just don't want to go back in. It was the nurses voice mail so have left a meeage and will keep trying until i can get hold of her. x

Spoke to nurse, have to go up to A & E and get put on a drip. Will keep you posted when i return. x x

hugs smit xxx your in the best place hope your looked after this time xxx

You've probably gone in by now so hope you are feeling better. High blood sugar and high ketones that aren't coming down really need to be seen in A &E.
Hopefully this time you will be able to take control and you know that you need to be closly monitored whilst on the sliding scale.
get well soon

Hope all goes well smit - let us know when you get back, how you are.

We're all thinking of you Smit - hope things are put to rights quickly and that you get better care this time!🙂

Everything's crossed Smit, hope they get your BGL down for you quickly.

Hi, Home!!! A and E were fantastic, got seen straight away. Pumped full of fluid and blood eventually came down. Down to 14 and small ketones. Hospital happy for me to come home and to try and control it but if spikes to go straight back. Feeling loads better now it's down a bit. I know it's still high but 14's better than 24. They said i had ++++ glucose in my urine and ++++ ketones, this came down to ++ ketones and +++++ glucose. What is the glucose thing? I thought that was same as ketones? So on a tight watch tonight. Testing blood hourly and constant ketone checks.

Thank heavens for that. Let's hope it stays down now. Get some rest, you must be exhausted after all the excitement.

phew thank goodness hope you are alot more settled rest of week hun , take it easy xx

Smit - great to hear that you were looked after properly, must be a huge relief!! Hope you get a good night's sleep and tomorrow is much calmer:D

Good news Smit, hope it continues to drop and you feel better. 🙂

Smit - really felt for you yesterday but so glad that A&E looked after you and you are now back home. Hope you go on loads better now. Take care.xx
