I think I've been institutionalised by diabetes, just went to the BBC News home page and saw the headline 'end of the road for Lada' I clicked excitedly expecting a diabetes story...it was about the car....😱

I also do it at work. We work with young people from difficuly background including substance misuse issues. When I train volunteers one of the questions is 'what would you do if a client turned up high....' Each time I say it a split second of me thinks corrections etc!

We had one of them once... Oh the shame of it! Mind you it coped really well with Highland winters, always started and just wouldn't die. As teenagers, we were scarred for life by the complete lack of cool.

I really wish it had been the other Lada though.

I just had to look it up on the net as although I knew of the condition the initals meant nothing to me. Years ago I did look at buying one but I found the steering even heavier than on the old (non PAS) Humber Hawk I owned at the time. A few years ago I did consider upgrading one with MkII Escort mechanicals but it never happened. I am a MkII Escort fanatic and still own one as a second car (160k miles).

hehehe oops!

Yeah sometimes I think it's taken over my life! (since coming on here actually 😛) But I can't think of an example right now 😉

Thats hillarious! I am so glad you posted this- I also have the same problem and in the same context, people need to see me at work as a matter of urgency because they are so "low" and I always think diabetes, not mood! I also end up trying to establish exactly how "high" someone is, and sometimes I wish they could just give me a number!

I find I'm more of the opposite, I dont think I think about it enough sometimes which kind of worries me because I feel like dont take it seriously enough :(

Hilarious! It reminds me of going to a scout camp in one of the leaders car, not sure what maybe a vauxhall of some description, we were bombing(ish) along fully loaded with 4 scouts and loads of kit, maybe even a trailer, then out of the blue a LADA comes along and easily over takes us!! He felt very embarassed!!

What's the Lada equivilent these days??
