Admitted to hospital last Wednesday with pancreatitis, was in til Sunday. I was hoping they'd take my gall bladder out while I was there but they dont do that unless the pancreatitis doesnt respond to treatment cos it would mean major surgery.

Still, i'm home now, feeling rather pathetic and fragile with a pre-op assessment for the gall bladder removal on 19 September - here's hoping its not a long waiting list, I'd really hate to go through the pancreatitis business again.

Hope everyone else is keeping ok.

Aaaawww so sorry to hear that Karen, I don't know much about about pancreatitis, but it does sound horrible:( I hope you get all the proper care that you need to get this sorted for you.
I'm glad you are home safe and sound, take it easy and good luck for the 19 september, fingers crossedx Sheena xxxx

I'm so sorry to hear this Karen :( I do hope that the op comes round quickly, take care - we've missed you! 🙂

On no. What a pain (literally) 😱

Must be very worrying for you until you know what's happening.

Please keep posting so we can stay updated.🙂

Ouch - pancreatitis can be incredibly painful. My FIL had a severe case some years back and his was caused by gall stones.

Hope you will be OK now - and good luck with your gall bladder operation.

Oh Karen you poor things, lets hope the 19th comes fast for you and they sort you out and have you back fighting fit again - steffie has been missing your whit or is it that she has missed having a partner in crime xxx

Sorry to hear you've been going through the mill.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear of your problems and good luck for the op. On a personal basis, please post when you've had the op as I have been scanned and told I've a wonderful crop of gallstones but they won't remove the gall bladder until I am in diabolical pain and at present it's only twinges. I'd like to know how you get on please. All good wishes,

I know how painful and serious it is because I had it in 2001. My gall bladder was removed after I had recovered. Take it very easy and give yourself a chance to recover before your op.
