when i had my small operation last week unknown to me some bugs had got in via an opening in my lower tummy where my tubing goes in.

as each day went by i was beginning to feel more ill and was drinking less fluids and by Monday i became so ill that trying to get any fluids in to me became impossible due to feeling sick all the time.

when the ambulance came my BP was dangerously high and i had also started vomiting so was rushed to hospital via blue lights.

i spent the night having loads of fluid put through me via I.V and they began doing all different tests from ultrasound, x-ray and also MRI but be blown when they did the MRI i only had an allergic reaction to contrast thankfully they acted fast to get stuff in to me to stop the allergic reaction and then at some point think i must of past out. when i came round the allergic reaction which had covered me in hives had gone and i was feeling a little better.

i was taken to a ward and it turns out i had an infection of the bladder, bowel and little bit on the chest.

i am glad to say that i am back home be it not so well but getting there slowly on antibiotics and am going to be recalled.

i have experienced some stuff in my life but nothing as drastic as this and this shows how dangerous leaving an infection can be.

Oh heck @mikeydt1 , you are sure having a rough time of it. I hope you recover swiftly and feel much better soon.

Goodness, what a mess. Was it Sepsis by any chance? Sending virtual hugs and sincerely hope you continue to improve and feel much better soon.

What a traumatic time you had, I thought something must have happened as you had been absent for a few days. I hope you start to feel a bit better soon.

Wishing you well. X

You’ve had a very tough time Mike but so glad you received excellent care. Thankfully it doesn’t sound like sepsis if your b/p was so high as it plummets with sepsis and the heart rate soars (certainly did with me). Take care and hope you feel better soon.

Blimey Mikey that sounds rough. I hope you recover quickly.

Goodness you've been through the mill for sure. Glad you're home now. Hope you continue to improve.

not sepsis just an infection which set in but strangely in the bladder, bowel and bit on the chest. i have been recalled for this coming Monday CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis one way i will know what the cause is pretty soon enough.

Sorry to hear this @mikeydt1

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
