Beans on wholemeal toast, good or bad idea? x

Sounds OK, have you tried a peanut butter and baked bean sandwich, bit tricky to eat without dribbling, but tastes good,

Beans on toast are fine, as long as you bolus correctly. Check tin label carefully, as baked bean sauces can vary significantly in sugar content.

Miss baked beans so much K...haven't had so much as one for well over a year now:(.

No I've never tried that lol x

I find baked beans on toast is even better with grated cheese melted on top - it also serves to slow down the digestion, so not as rapid a spike from the beans 🙂

Sounds delicious!

I would have thought worth trying. Your numbers are so low that you can afford to experiment, if you feel like eating it then try! Good luck.
Oh NJ I wish it was that easy for me! haha, I'll get there I'm sure x

I think you'll all find that brown sauce is the way to go! 🙂
Perfect on a damp miserable day like today!

I used to sometimes stir some Worcestershire sauce into the beans whilst cooking (or Henderson's Relish, when in Sheffield! 🙂)

Just a dash, after cooking when on toast...then you have a choice of how to swirl it in!

Runner beans, fried egg, brown sauce! Not sure where that memory came from...but now I really want some! I don't think my salad sandwich has set me up properly for my impending trip out in the rain:(.

Cheese on toast, baked beans on top with a generous dollop of hp sauce

What do you mean by correctly? sorry if I'm being thick here! x

I don't think you're being thick. Always best to ask if a post isn't clear!
As long as you calculate carbohydrate content, according to bean label and details of bread, then work out how much insulin to inject. As I mentioned, baked beans and their sauce can vary considerably in carbohydrate content, so it's important not to assume details from last time you ate baked beans.
The big advantage of basal bolus insulin regime is that you can eat what you want, when you want, as long as you have enough insulin. Many people regard higher carbohydrate meals as occasional treats, rather than regular occurences.
