Mr disorganised strikes again - can anyone tell me if batteries for accu-chek nano testing machine are available in the supermarket? Only been testing since feb and didnt think the batteries would go so quick, but hay ho my machine wouldnt test this morning E9-low battery code and it has to happen on a sunday lol!

HI cokecan.

Yes, they're CR2032 batteries, which are probably the most widely available watch type battery you can get.

It has 2 but I can't remember if one is just a backup. Should say in the instructions.🙂

If you have registered your meter on the Accu Chek site they will send you batteries for free - they usually arrive quickly. Also, there is a known problem with the Nano in that the batteries can be perfectly fine but there is some kind of connection problem - if you call the helpline they might be able to solve it for you. I ended up returning my meter and don't use the replacement now as it was too unreliable for me. I have an ordinary Accu Chek Aviva now which has worked without problems for 4 years 🙂

Hi Cokecan,
Just for future reference, if E-9 shows and the low battery warning hasn't shown, remove the battery tray momentarily and then re-insert it. This should cure the E-9 and get you up and running, however it will resume in 'set up' mode though.
I always buy 2 sets of batteries and keep a spare set in the pouch. 🙂
