A pair of daredevil sisters from Bathgate took part in their first ever skydive for charity.

Maria Roberts (34) and Amanda Connelly (24) raised nearly £2300 for Diabetes UK with the jump from 10,000 feet over St Andrews last month.

At the age of eight, Maria was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, meaning she had to inject herself with insulin four times a day.

Due to complications with the illness, her eyesight was affected. She only has seven per cent vision in one eye and the other has been removed.

Brave ladies 🙂 Not quite as simple as stated with insulin pumps, Mr Journalist! They make it sound as though you 'get fitted' then all your problems are solved, you don't need to do anything - ever! 🙄
