People's basal rates, background insulin, seem to vary a lot. I am very interested in the differant rates that are used. Can you please tell me what yours are?

Are you talking about pumps by any change?🙂

pumping basals

Ooops. Sorry. I forgot to put basal rates for pumps I'd like to know what everyone uses.

Not sure my daughter's would help you at all as she is only 10 so no doubt different by a long way from you. Let me know if you do want to know. 🙂

I have 3 different patterns, so will give you the basals for my most commonly used one at the moment:

From 00:00 - 0.6u/h
From 06:30 - 1.3u/h
From 10:00 - 0.6u/h
From 18:00 - 0.9u/h
From 20:00 - 0.4u/h
Total daily basal dose: 16.65u

I am 20 years old & female. My exercise is mostly walking, and some yoga. For work I am a secretary, so not very active there.

I must stress that these basals are far from perfect - currently having way too many hypos!

Here is my current basal rate pattern that I use most commonly: -
0000 - 0200 0.85u/h
0200 - 0500 0.75
0500 - 0700 0.65
0700 - 0900 0.73
0900 - 1100 1.00
1100 - 1300 0.86
1300 - 1800 0.82
1800 - 2200 0.90
2200 - 0000 0.85
Total daily dose 19.83 units

Don't ask me how I ended up with a drop from 0.86 to 0.82 at 1pm but that extra 0.04 of a unit obviously does make a difference!

Just a quick note for the mods, this might get a better response from the pumpers here if it was moved onto the Pumping page. That said this could also be construed as quite private information so it might just be that people are quite understandably reluctant to share it.
