Barred for having a hypo and being sick

I have been barred from the bell pub in Norwich. This is what happened a couple of weeks ago i went in for a meal i became unwell with a hypo of 3.2 i felt sick so i went to the toilet and i was sick. didt think nothing of it i had some coke to bring my bs up and went home. Went back a week later went up to the bar asked for a drink and was told i was barred, i asked why and was told it was because i was sick in the toilet staff would not discuss it as the staff member who saw me was not there. I tried to explain but they were not interested. I have never been barred from anywhere before in my life.
 
That sucks :( How rubbish of them - seems like they've massively overreacted! 😡 Sounds like you're better off finding somewhere with nicer staff...! Xx
 
Hi Gail, sorry that has happened. Depending on how vidictive you're feeling, you could (a) just boycott the place and tell everybody you know; (b) write to the brewery to explain the circumstances and ask them to get the manager to reconsider; (c) write to the local paper and hope it gets published; (d) contact the local councillor who heads up the Licensing Committee.

Gail that is absolutely ridiculous behavior by them.
Do they know you are diabetic & you can't help it?
 
Eh? Have they never encountered someone being unwell in their pub before? Sounds fishy to me, sorry you have been treated like this Gail. :(

ypauly - perhaps we could all go in at opening time, occupy all the seats, and sit till late nursing half a diet coke? 😉

If they are part of a chain Gail, you can write to their head office and complain. Being ill and having a hypo is hardly your fault, it's not as though did any damage or caused a riot, you just got sick.

I've got my straw ready, let me know when.
 
Thanks all for your support i was going to let it go but why should i I think i will write to head office and make sure they know about it after all i cant help being diabetic can i ? i like the idea of 1/2 diet coke and 12 straws it made me smile
 
Like someone else said - have they never had someone be unwell in their pub before?? What would they have preferred you to do? Be sick on the carpet? Ridiculous. I'd definitely be complaining to someone about it

I wouldn't even give them money for half a coke they don't deserve our business
 
Makes my blood boil, accept nothing else but a full apology and a free meal & drink😡

Sod the coke I'm thinking of a big sit in with our own food and drinks, picknick style.

We could even bring our very own entertainment, a boom box with some gangster rap CD's lol:D

If you are thinking of upsetting the owners then probably yes lol:D


Whatever we do, count me in my friends mean more to me than some poxy pub in norwich.

But the pick nick sounds good as long as there is cheese & nice coleslaw from m&s sandwiches
