hello....did anyone see dragons den about the pasta that is so low in carbs we can all have a bolognase every day in the week;its all on the barenaked foods website ..have a look please and tell me what you think...🙂🙂🙂

I didn't see the programme, but I wonder if this is a similar product to shiritake noodles (mentioned in the Food & Carbs forum a few times). You can find 'zero carb' shiritake products on the lowcarbmegastore website.

Ragu alla Bolognese is one of my favourite dishes but requires a lot of time, about 4 hours. Why ruin it with Shiritaki noodles, water suspended in fibre? A good quality wholewheat pasta will not affect most Type 2s. It's GI is something like 32, lower if you get thicker sorts and cook it al dente.

It's good with a prawn and tomato sauce or a Pasta con le Sarde, sardines and fennel.

It is yes. Shiritaki is made from the konjac yam

Hmm, I couldn't see an ingredients list on the website, but they seem a bit pricey considering they contain no wheat, no carbs, no fat, in fact what do they contain apart from excessive levels of salt?!! We won't be eating them, I prefer smaller amounts of real food 🙂
