Is this a good alternative for a sweet tooth snack do you think, good for diabetes type 2?

1 banana
1 egg
sprinkle of maize flour
2 teaspoons of milled linseed.

Mix all together and fry in non stick pay using spray oil
Makes about 4 largish pancake / fritters. nice 😛 😛

I used coconut oil as I don't have spray oil in total 2 teaspoons. probably not the best option, what do you think?

I didn't find it very filling though. I guess to make it more filling could add yoghurt and no sugar stewed applies and berry maybe.

Grateful for any input. 🙂

Banana sends my BGS sky high but the only way to check what they do to you is to test after 2hours and see

They have a heck of a high carb count on their own, without adding more in the batter, whatever you make it from. And cooking em, you break down a fair bit of the cellulose - so I'd expect my BG to go soaring off to an outer galaxy PDQ !

Not an ideal fruit anytime unless you're running a triathlon, or playing Andy Murray, in which case anyway, you'd only have an occasional bite.

I'd say stay clear I have images of my nan cooking those for me when I was a nipper jeez the bad things I was force fed 😱

I can manage the occasional banana without a major spike, but cooking it & wrapping it in batter wouldn't be good for me. Bananas may be nutritional, but there are other lower carb ways of getting the same nutrition.

Hi Jodee. You could maybe have a small amount as a very occasional treat if you really love them, but obvs the stricter you are with your diet the better your control of BSLs. As a type 2 myself I agree with the other posters - too many carbs to include regularly in our diets. Yes bananas are nutritious but probably better for us to eat other foods that dont spike blood sugar. I did have a sneaky banana last week because I miss fruit 😳 but I usually stick to my diet strictly.

thanks Mark and Ginger 🙂
