Hi have been suffering from Balanitis since end of September diagnosed Type 2 early October, with HBIAc of 110
Low carbing gluco readings around 5 in morning and 5.5 two hours after eating.
Only problem is my balanitis sometimes gets better than flares up again. I’ve used trimovate which helped and canesten which wasn’t helpful.
Does it take longer to get sugar out of urine and is there anything else I can do. I’m hoping when HBIAc goes down it will clear up

Hi Laconic,
Sorry I don't know anything about Balanitis, but I want to say that those are fabulous BG readings so soon after that HbA1C of 110.
So very well done!

I’m afraid I don’t know about balinitis either, but it can take a little time for the body to recover from ‘gluco toxicity’ if you’ve been running at high BGs for a while pre-diagnosis.

making sure you keep well hydrated is usually a good move - but check that for your particular circumstances. And keep doing what you are doing with those great BGs 🙂

Hi. I assume what you have is Candida (Thrush)? I had that before I was diagnosed and my silly GP didn't spot that it is a common sign of high blood sugar. It should fade by itself when your BS goes down. Products like Canesten can help but don't solve the problem.

Hello Laconic, welcome to the forum. BGs (blood glucose) readings like that prove you are doing very well.
Just like with us women once thrush gets a hold it can sometimes be a pain to get rid of. However it is highly unlikely in my non medical opinion that with BG levels like yours their will now be any sugar in your urine for the little blighters to feed on, sugar normally only appears in our wee if we go into double figures ie 10.0.
As you’ve had it a while now, I think your bet bet is to see a Gp as you may need something a tad stronger than is available over the counter.
