Hi all

I'm just baking a cake. I have added all the carbs together. The whole cake is 600g carbs. (it's a big cake)

BUT - when you bake a cake, there's a lot of wastage, before the cake mix goes in the oven. How do you make allowances for that?

Waste? How? Surely a spatula gets everything out of bowl and into tin?

No I'm afraid not 😱 I try my best, but I've spilt a little flour and some mix was stuck on the mixer blades (which ended up in my tum). The bowl is fairly well scraped out.

back in my cake loving days, the spatula got everything out and into my mouth! We used to hover until mum said we could lick the bowl, but she never left anything in there! So when I became a 'grown up', I made a cake and licked loads out of the bowl. Was promptly unwell.

And on that note, I dont think there will much difference with the carb counting when its time to serve up..........

What kind of cake it is? Just so I can picture it.........😉

Sorry it took so long to reply. We're having problems with the internet connection.

It's a danish spiced cake with raisins, similar to ginger cake. My cousin brought me a few packets of spiced baking powder when he came over this summer.

Monica just popped you my address in an PM I want to claim a slice or 3 :D

Had a look on the packet what spices there are. Took a while to find the translation online.

cinnamon, clove, allspice and ginger
