Just got my results. I've gone up from 52 to 55, i.e.6.9 to 7.2.
Also my kidney function has got worse and I am anaemic. Good news is that my cholesterol has gone down from 4.1 to 3.9.

I can't understand why the HbA1c has gone up so much. I've been living on salads all summer and my tests that I had done 2 hrs after my main meal have been in the low to mid 6's. whereas last year they were in the 7's.

Oh well, could be worse I suppose. I go for blood test for anaemia on Monday and then see the GP next Thursday.

Try not to worry - although it's never great when you see your Hba1c go up, it's only a tiny increase and more or less in line with previous ones. Do you check your BG at other times of the day? What are your bedtime and waking levels? If you are spending several hours each night above target, this could be a contributory factor. With type 2 there may come a time when your pancreas cannot keep up with demand any longer and you may need a helping hand from tablets. This doesn't mean a failure on your part with your diet 🙂. The other thing to consider (perhaps check with your doc) is if you are anaemic I believe it can lead to an unreliable Hba1c result, due to fewer red blood cells in the sample. Chin up, you're still doing a great job! 🙂

Everything Redkite says 🙂 It may be worth trying some tests one hour after eating to see if you are peaking and then dropping back by two hours.

It's never a nice feeling when things go up, especially if you are expecting the reverse, but it is still very similar to your last test and hopefully if will head in the other direction next time 🙂

Sorry to hear you are disappointed with your A1c Thelis.

Still in a pretty good place to guard against future problems though. As others have said a bit more testing here and there might help you find out when your BGs are higher than you expect.
