Bad dream!

Anyone else dream about their D? Because I got up early to go over to the hospital for my blood test, I decided to have a little nap this afternoon.
I dreamt that for some reason I hadn't been able take my insulin, felt very ill, hot and sweaty and when I checked my watch my BG was 30.2! Still dreaming I thought "I will have DKA, I must be type 1 after all! so I need to go to the hospital, but at least they'll give me mealtime insulin now!"

Then woke up with a jump, feeling very hot and sweaty under the quilt, luckily my BG was only 5.6, phew!

Oh goodness @Lisa65

What a nightmare! Glad your BG was behaving when you woke up, and wasn’t raised by the stress of it 😱

I have had a fair few dreams about diabetes. Mostly fairly mundane ones. But some incorporating sensor alarms which were actually going off!

I occasionally have dreams about not being able to get to my diabetes supplies, or that my cannula has fallen out and I'm not in a position to insert another / don't have one. It does massively freak me out when I have these dreams, but this would never happen to me in real life - I carry so much stuff around with me and am very much on top of making sure i have enough of everything (learned from experience!) - I do calm quite quickly on waking. Not nice though.

The dreams about my teeth crumbling out take me a little longer to get over!!

Oh jeez @Lisa65 I'm an insomniac, so take sleeping pills every other night (prescription) when I take a sleeping pill I never dream, on the nights I don't take them I dream about everything under the sun.

Some of my dreams make sense, others are just so weird and come from nowhere

I used to have a reoccuring dream of trying to get to the centre of a town but every road i go down either has a barracade or wall so i have to turn back or it would take me in a different direction. I had an idea what it meant cos of what life was chucking at me at the time but a therapist got confused with it lol

Last night i drempt of walking along a beach at sunset, the sea splashing against my feet

At least that explains the foot prints in the cats litter tray this morning

I will be 60 in August, but for years I had a recurring dream that it's the night before my French A level and I discover there will be questions about a book I haven't read yet. I still occasionally have that dream all these years later.
Actually I had read all the books, but only got a C 🙄
