went to the dentist for graham he needed a filling( the first one ) never had dental problem he went in hypo 3.5 straight away we took 1 hour to bring it to 4.5 he was in complete terror so we could not do anything we have to book another appointment when michael is at home so we can persuade him

I'm very sorry to hear that Graham found it so difficult an experience - dentists are never easy :( I hope that he fares better next time - try not to let the fear build up.

I hope Graham is feeling better and does better withthe dentist next time.

Just a suggestion, I know it helps some children, is it possible to book an appointment where the dentist explains his equipment and lets Graham see what it does and then make another appointment for the treatment? Some people find it helps them to put their fears aside.

Sorry to hear that - as it's his first filling it may be the fear of the unknown so if dentist can explain things it may help.

We have wonderful lady dentist who is very patient with K - last year K had to have a baby tooth out as it wasn't coming out by itself but was getting in the way of adult tooth. Dentist was v good and K was fine - BUT she really hated the feeling of her mouth being all numb - so when a couple of weeks ago she had to have her (first) filling she really couldn't face the anasthetic so she ended up having the filling without it😱 and was fine.

If you can find out if it is one part he is scared of it might be worth seeing if there is another way of doing it?

Hope he OK now and you can find a way round this.

I hope that Graham is feeling better today - the whole experience must have been very upsetting to you both.

i booked for next tuesday so daddy will be there as well our dentist is very good he never had problems before he had 1 milk tooth removed as well and normal check up but i think now is the injection that is scared about it he promised that he will be ok next week (finger crossed):D

Would it be posible to have a nice treat lined up for him after it's all finished?
So he has something else to focus on rather than the injection. Perhaps just drop into the conversation that once Grahams filling has been done we can go and do ... If it's just casually mentioned in conversation with hubby and Graham just accidently on purpose hears it, this way it's not a bribe so he doesn't get into his head that a filling is a big thing. 🙂

Ahh bless , a trip to the dentist is horrible at the best of times hope he feels better soon .
