Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
After my type 2 diagnosis a couple of weeks ago, I've made quite good progress steadily getting my readings down to very satisfactory levels. This morning my FBG was 5.7. Living on my own, I've had time to plan meals and generally keep on top of things. However, today, staying at my son's and eating out this evening (pub grub) with two or three drinks (whisky) I was not too surprised to get a reading of 10.4. I'm going away for a few days with the family and, while I will try to eat sensibly most of the time I know that circumstances will force me to eat some no-no grub. What is the significance of these occasional lapses in the greater scheme of things?

Well I'm 9 years in and I've had more backwards steps then Micheal Jackson doing the moonwalk and I'm still making thosee mistakes now
We can't all be angels 24-7 even the better controlled amongst us have naughty days
Dont take diabetes as a death sentence someone told me. Just be sensible sit back and think for a few seconds once you get into swing of it you will realise what foods do what to your BS browser

Enjoy your time away

Holidays are meant to be enjoyed ok. Just don't go too far overboard, see if they will allow you to substitute something, Or don't have a pud.

I've been away for a day or two, and eating both self-catering and out. Don't like making a fuss when eating with others so expected to have some problems. Pleasantly surprised to find that, even with the odd indulgence, I've not had any nightmare readings........... encouraging.🙂

That's great Browser. Hope you enjoyed your holiday 🙂

I'm okay when I'm eating out, it's when I'm in that the trouble starts! 😱

Just stick with meat and vegetables, don't have the puds. 🙂
