Got to go back again. Injections are leaving nasty little red marks and for some reason they sting a lot even tho the insulin is not too cold.

Not a happy camper today :(

Sorry to hear this Megan, I hope they can find a solution for you 🙂 Let us know what they say.

Frustrating, but probably best to meet someone face to face, to try to find a solution. Hope it works out OK for you soon.

Trophywench I'm on humalog 25 mix at the mo.

Is stinging a lot a few seconds after injecting. That lasts about an hour and then the red mark appears.

The stinging makes me apprehensive about injecting as I'm not good with needles as it is.

I used to get a stingy red itchy bruise wuth a previous insulin. They thought it was one of the preservatives & switched me to a different insulin & hey presto, no more stinging injections! 🙂 Fingers crossed it's easily sorted for you too.

Hi twitchy. My nurse is looking at an insulin change I think. I still have 2 stingy injections to do before I see her tomorrow though! :(

Hi Megan I hope that they are able to change you to a non stingy insulin tomorrow

I hope you can find one that suits, however I do urge you to at least try a different make of needle cos I've always had problems with BG needles and the only thing we have ever thought of that might cause it, is the lubricant they use on em. ie I am allergic to that for some reason.
