Hi all,

had to return to docs yesterday because over the weekend my legs had been so painful all I wanted to do was cry :(

Saw a different doc this time and she was brilliant said altho bloods had come back ok it could still be the statins causing the pain as blood test wasn't always conclusive! She suggested that I stop the statin for about 2/3 weeks and that will give them somewhere to go on from! Went back today for another blood test for Anaemia (?sp), vit. B12 deficiency, which can be caused by the Metformin.

So its just a waiting game now, joy

thanks

Shirl

Good to hear that you got to see a more enlightened doctor Shirl - by that I mean one who was prepared to listen to your concerns and try a bit harder to get to the bottom of the problem. Hopefully this will show whether the statins are at fault and then you can move forward 🙂

That sounds awful Shirl, so painful,I hope you get some help and the outcome is a good and positive one. I will be thinking of you with fingers crossed. Take care Sheena

Have you had your CK levels checked?
I had the same symptoms as you, painful legs etc., and my Creatine Kinase levels were 409. The normal range is 0-70. I stopped the statins and the levels have reduced to 206. My consultant informs me that the damage will take some time to heal, and may never heal if I am unlucky. A year on and I'm still in pain and discomfort.
Get it checked would be my advice.
Kelly.

Thank you Northerner, Sheena and Kelly

Northerner yeah pleased to say doc was good, she also said to go back straight away if my legs started to change colour or swell, had a lot more confidence in her!

Thanks Sheena I'm sure it'll get sorted just gotta wait and see.

Kelly the CK test was one done first time around, doc yesterday said was ok but that sometimes took time to show up in bloods so thats why she said to stop Statin for time being.

Will let you know how things go,

thanks again

Shirl
