Relationship to Diabetes

Hi All, I've been absent from this forum for some time. In August I had a heart attack, and that altered my trajectory. I had a blockage in the RCA only, and got a stent. My cardiologist (because I have one of those now) says that my heart action is normal and that I dodged a bullet. Maybe I'm being ungrateful, but after a heart attack its hard to feel that I've dodged much. Nevertheless, I'm largely recovered, although I have occasional afib. Oddly, things are much improved on the diabetes front. My last A1C was 5.6 and that was without any medication, just proper low carb diet, and a moderate amount of exercise. The net result of that is my insurance company no longer considers me diabetic, and so wouldn't approve a CGM. File that under irony if you like. I do have a CGM though. That and something else have made remaining non-diabetic easier. More on that in another post.

Sorry to hear what you've been through @mhtyler but glad to hear your diabetes management is much improved. Lovely to see you here, welcome back.

Oh my goodness @mhtyler

Sorry to hear about your dicky ticker (heart trouble). :(

Sounds like you’ve bounced back amazingly well. And great to hear your HbA1c is so much improved that you are no longer considered to be living with diabetes!
