Back after a wee while

Welcome back i remember you from the meets we used to have. How are you keeping?
Gail

Hi Rustee. Welcome back.

Is there anything particular that spurred you into coming back to say hello? Anything we can help you with?
How is your diabetes management going? Well I hope but if not we would be happy to try to help!

I am well - I had a wee knee injury, which seems to be healing quite well. I am a frequent gym user now. Diabetes wise - it seems to be on 46 - 48 based on my last reading. I feel more positive overall, due to stuff I do. I have done my level 3 Counselling Course. I am trying not to be so insular as I was previously. I learnt so much from this forum. Need to be part of it again

Great HbA1c results and well done on achieving your counselling qualification. Good to hear that you are back at the gym as exercise helps so much with physical and mental health. Hope the knee recovery continues in the right direction.

Oh, I almost forgot - 2023, my annual eye screening showed slight baon background retinopathy. In that instant - I stopped all fizzy drinks. Even though during my optician check with the OCT scan it barely showed. I am just trying to keep on level. It hasn't got worse, however, it gave me the wake up call I needed.

Sorry to hear that your eye screening showed a slight deterioration but great that you were able to use that to motivate yourself to change your diet. Quite a few of us have had a background retinopathy result and then a year or two later, got the all clear, so perhaps with your lifestyle changes, you too will see an improvement back to normal at some point in the future.

Many of us have experienced background retinopathy which has cleared. I hope this is the case for you.
I am sure stopping fizzy drinks is beneficial to you beyond the eye issues.

Excuse me for noticing your typo but I smiled when I read the bacon background retinopathy. I am trying to picture what this is - did you miss your mouth when eating a rasher? 😛
(I am one of the worst for typos and prefer to see the funny side. I hope you do too.)

Thanks Guys,
I have missed the forum big time. Lots of stuff for me. It took my knee injury and current recovery to realise that I was going in a wee cycle. Too focused on global issues, very little things that make me joyful or joyous. When I read that in complimentary therapy knee issues can be a sign of depression, I scoffed. However, I do have a bit of stuff on. It makes sense

Now, how are you all doing?
