Anyone experienced high b12
Is this a common side effect of the diabetes gift that keeps giving? Or should I be worried

Low b12 can be a side effect of metformin. I have never heard anyone saying they have high b12 due to diabetes though.

Diabetes can impact B12, although less commonly rendering it high.

Depending on how high your B12 is, and what your other bloods look like, your GP might want to check a few more things out.

Worry helps nothing, but makes sense, if you are concerned to have a conversation with your Doc.

Meat, fish, milk, cheese, eggs are a source of B12.
Do you eat a lot of them?

How far above the reference range is your result @Karen999 ?

Are you just at the top edge? Or substantially higher?

Are you taking multivits or any supplements that might be adding to your B12 levels?

Various NHS websites suggest getting a Full Blood Count and check of liver function if you are concerned.

Are you in contact with your GP about your worries?

thankyou all im talking to my d nurse later today
