A SURGEON has set an inspiring example by making more than 75 potentially life-saving blood donations over the last 40 years.
Phil Earl, a specialist facial surgeon at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, made his first donation when he was 18 and has gone on to provide more than 35 litres of blood over the last four decades ? helping to save as many as 200 lives.
His dedication was recognised by NHS Blood and Transplant when he was one of 43 donors presented with a special crystal award during a ceremony at Malvern?s Abbey Hotel.
