Has anybody else had any of the Avastin eye injections.
I have had 5 now to date,
Not a nice experience, but get on with it.It doesnt hurt, its just the feeling of someone injecting your eye that makes me squeemish,
Anyway last one i had on 2nd Nov,They caught my eye when removing clip(which holds your eye open)caused a deep gouge on surface of my eye, which resulted in lots of pain and swelling, its only just opened after6 days, still sore, putting lots of gel in my eye to soothe.
emergency clinic says it should heal in time, which it is getting easier now, just waiting for sight to clear now
I had no apologies after injection,my reckoning is they must have known they caught my eye,but said nothing.
Should i complain,as i said earlier i have been off work now 6 days and still cant go back yet.

I think I'd be tempted to say something, especially if you don't get paid for not working.

Reading this thread puts the fear of god in me😱 I am so sorry for you, please talk to someone about this. They probably didn't say anything because so many people sue for incompetence and neglect nowadays. As you are still off work, I would certainly complain as you do seem to have a valid reason. Take care and best wishes, I do hope your poor eye gets better soon. Sheena

I would complain, there are obviously risks of this happening, but they should be competent enough to carry out the procedure..........

Sounds really sore...........:(

Ouch ...... , I would say something , that was very careless of them ,just not good enough especially in such a delicate area like your eyes :(

At the very least they should give you an explanation, ask them what went wrong and why they didn't tell you at the time.
