Hi All,

I recently purchased some Atkins chocolate bars which say that they have very little sugar and carbs in them. I have tried them twice on different days and on each occasion my blood sugar zoomed up to double figures!
On each occasion I was careful to not eat something carby with it so I guess it must be the chocolate bar that was the culprit!
Has anyone else tried these?

There are several threads (last year I think) discussing sugar free sweets. They are sweetened with polyols (sorbitol/maltitol) which I believe can have an effect on BG. They can also have an explosive laxative effect!

Ahhhh so my very unpleasant few hours of the runs and tummy cramps are explained!
Oh well, another food item I cant eat! Anyone want to purchase a box of Atkins chocolate caramel peanut bars? 🙄
