Not so long ago I was despairing of ever getting the sort of really good readings other members of this forum sometimes report.

I was keeping my carb intake very low and keeping track of my numbers but I seemed to be stuck with a high 7-ish reading in the morning and readings around 8 after eating with 7s on a good day and around mid 6 between meals.

But over the last three weeks or so something seems to have changed for the better.

I've been getting regular readings around 5 between meals and 6 after meals and varying between 5.3 to 6.9 at waking.

My blood pressure has also improved and today I had a reading of 111 over 70 when I checked it because I had a bit of a headache. I think my headache is because I slept awkwardly and cricked my neck.

So I'm feeling very chuffed and grateful that I am managing to do this without meds of any kind now.

Great news that you have made an obvious breakthrough. Congratulations!
Can I ask if you have lost any weight? Just wondering if you have broken through your personal fat threshold for there to be a sudden improvement, when you were already eating low carb.

I might have done. I don't know. I don't own a weighing scales. My clothes are looser and when I stand in profile I can see myself on both sides in the hall mirror with one eye closed when before I couldn't fit the reflection of me in the mirror. So probably - yes.

If this continues the next stage is to hopefully get to a point where I don't need my CPAP any more. It would be lovely to be able to sleep comfortably without it. I haven't slept lying down for years and years.

Oh wow! Can't imagine how awful that must be. I love sleeping flat out. Would hate to have to be propped up. Good luck with reaching that next target and a huge well done on the progress you have made so far!

Congratulations @NotWorriedAtAll, these are really good results.
I know from you other postings how hard you have been working to achieve this.

P.S, The headache might just be due to this very hot and sultry weather we are having. - It has certainly had that effect on me, and I'm quite looking forward to tomorrow's thunderstorms!

I have a Poang chair from IKEA next to the bed and I sleep in that with my feet up on the bed. It's a bit like the recliner chairs on first class planes. I've been sleeping like that for so long now I get a bit panicky when I lie down flat - it feels too vulnerable somehow. Daft I know but I feel safer sitting up.

Thanks 🙂 I have got a bit hyper-focussed on my dietary intake over the last eighteen months and I doubt that will ever stop now. Even if it gets to the point where eating the occasional fish and chip meal and proper bread sandwich no longer spikes me (she said optimistically) I still don't want to ever go back to the old way of eating.

My husband said it might be the weather giving me this headache. I had a nap and that helped. I'm trying not to take a painkiller because it seems a pity to take meds if I can avoid them. I will tonight if it hasn't resolved by bed time - or as it is for me 'chair time' :D

Really pleased for you @NotWorriedAtAll - hope you can enjoy this BG stability for some time to come 🙂
