Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) Watch will be able to track a wearer’s sugar levels in patients with diabetes with a little bit of help.
An app that will be released around the same time as the Apple Watch will allow users to check their sugar levels. The app requires the users of the device to have a small sensors implanted slightly below their skin. This senor will report sugar levels every five minutes and can display it on the wearable device, reports Cnet.
The Apple Watch app is made by DexCom. DexCom will be able to release the app easier thanks to changes in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s guidelines. These changes make it so that apps that only display health information aren’t considered Class III, Cnet notes.
