1: Hot Spiced Apple thing, serves one if you're me.

Note: For special things like this I tend to choose a specific type of apple juice - usually the Coxes Orange Pippin one sold by a local stall here but any good quality apple juice will do the job.

1 litre apple juice
Qtr tsp each, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves, finely ground.
A very small amount of finely ground chilli and a little ground ginger

Place the juice in a pan to warm through (don't boil, just a gentle simmer) add the spices and stir well, leave to simmer for 5-10 minutes till the smell drives you nuts and serve.

2: Chilled Apple Fizz Thing

1-1.5 litres apple juice
A large bottle of Elderflower Press?, or a bottle of fizzy water and a teacup of Elderflower cordial (add more if you like it stronger).
Some slices of lemon, lime, orange and/or apple
A fridge or some ice cubes

Place the fruit slices in a large jug and half fill with apple juice then top up with the Elderflower. Place in the fridge to chill, or if you're going to have it right away, pour the liquid over fruit slices and ice cubes.

3: Apple Thai-ser Thing

1 litre apple juice
Juice of two limes
Approx 1" piece of Lemongrass (give it a good bash before you put it in the pan to release the flavours)
Qtr tsp ground ginger
1 teacup of water

Put the water and lime juice in a pan and bring to a simmer then add the lemongrass and ginger. Leave to simmer for at least 10 minutes then allow to cool. Once it's cold, add the apple juice stir well and leave in the fridge to chill. Serve with ice over a slice of lime.

If you want a carb-free appley hot drink, try Twinings Camomile & Spiced Apple fruit infusions sweetened with your preferred type of calorie-free sweetener. For a bit more fruity sharpness, add a small dash of lemon juice.
