Just went to see nurse , my Hba1c is 6.8 - it was 6.7 last time but she that's ok. My blood pressure, weight, cholesterol are all in the 'safe and good' boundary , she didn't give me details.
I mentioned the lovely side effects from metformin that i am having ( do I need to say more? 😱) And she has put me on slow release metformin... Is that better?
So, I am fine🙂 podiatrist yesterday gave me some shoe insoles for my slightly high arches to help stop my arthritis get worse ... Flu jab next week.... I am apparently fine, well apart from..................🙂

I would say you seem to be fine also, from my unprofessional view on things, so well done on the good numbers............

No real experience with metformin, but I believe the slower acting stuff does help when it comes to the common problems it causes with the gut........

I hope it works out better for you.........😉

Sounds like you are doing brilliantly well. I hope the slow release metformin works better for you than the other stuff and you get no more unpleasent side effects...

Ann - the slow release metformin can cause the same side effects, but people tend to tolerate them better. You have to remember though that the tablets cannot be chewed or cut or you will absorb them as you would standard metformin. Some chemists put this on the labels other rely on you reading the Patient Information leaflet.

Did you tell your nurse how you were feeling ? I think that given all you have had to deal with your results are great -its just a pity you can't get some support for all the other stuff.
