I have almost run out of Apidra so I'm gonna being switching to Novorapid prolly tomorrow morning as I may have just enough for my evening meal. Will let you know how I fair. It is gonna be interesting considering it can take between 3 and 4 hours for Apidra to peak and my BS to go back to normal so gonna be fun knowing that Novorapid is meant to be slower working. I've kept a cartridge of Apidra incase of problems so I can go back if needed and it will give me a weeks supply.

Hi Marc, may sound a daft question but why didn't you just swop to a vial and syringe until the supply problem is sorted? As I understand it there is no problem with vials. Or has this situation changed?

I asked about viles and they said no you don't want to be messing with those. Also I eat my lunch out a lot and feel self concious injecting in public with needles rather than a pen. Also not got the time for all the needle training even though I used them from 9 till 19/20 ish.

What needle training? ROFL

Don't forget Novo and Huma don't kick in as quick as Apidra, so you might have to inject 20 mins before your meals.

Well I started the Novorapid. At the risk of jinxing it after about 4 days on Novorapid every thing seems to be going very well some of my ratios have come down even more. My lunch ratio is now at 1.25 units to 10g of carbs which is the lowest I have ever been at my height I was on 2.25 units of Apidra to 10g of carbs. But this could be due to the weight loss.

Good luck with it Marc, I hope things stay stable and predictable 🙂
