Anyone thinking about Mounjaro but worried about the injections.

Just wanted to make a very quick post for anyone thinking about Mounjaro but scared of injecting themselves.

I have attached a photo of the needle. As you can see, it is so fine and tiny that you do not feel it going in. I’ve put it next to some tweezers for scale - it’s only slightly thicker than a hair. I was a little heavy handed the first time and felt a sharp scratch - but it’s become second nature now and I can’t feel it at all.

I thought this might help anyone worried about their capability to inject - it takes about 20 seconds and is completely painless.

The needles for subcutaneous injections have come a long way since the harpoons I started on! 😱

And there are some on the forum who had to boil-up their needles for re-use, and store them in surgical spirit!

Great post @Katetype2 as yes some people are initially scared of injections

I was asked just over a month ago to administer for a friend his first dose of Mounjaro (he had MJ for weight loss reasons on a private prescription)
this was something I myself wasn’t entirely comfortable doing despite me giving myself various injections for many years
but I remember back to when I first was told I needed Insulin, I was so upset and the thought of needing to administer this myself really stressed me out, I recall it was a relief back then after the nurse did my first insulin jab, and I realised it is nothing to worry about
I only administered that first ja/ for my friend and after he did his first himself he admitted it is nothing and then himself commented how fine the needle is and he shouldn’t have been so worried about injections
