I expect this has been asked before but here goes anyway..

I was recently trying to explain to someone that I'm avoiding carbohydrates because they are basically sugar and will raise my glucose levels sharply. They said why then is only part of the carbohydrate described as sugar on the side of some packets (the 'of which sugar..' bit).

After a bit of bluffing I basically said the simple molecules are sugars such as those ending in 'ose', and the rest are starches but they all break down quite quickly into glucose when eaten.

was I correct?

happy new to all BTW 🙂

That works for me.

Sounds right to me too. :D
