Is there anyone on here fromthe Furness area in Cumbria? I believe there is a local support group and I'm interested in joining to get some support as I'm unsure as to alot of things....
I seem to be taking so many tablets and they do seem to be working but it just seems excessive!!! I have 4 Metformin Slow release (The ordinary ones gave me terrible wind!!) and 2 gliclazide. As well as Pravastatin and Aspirin...

I need to have a fasting blood test to see if the cholesterol has come down and the triglycerites as well as seeing if the diabetes talets are having any detrimental effects on organs.
There is so much to remember and do!! and of course I have to get the new prescription every 4 weeks for the metformin as the doc will only give me 112 tablets.

Thanks for listening to my moans but it helps...

You moan away Andybob. That's what we're here for. Unfortunately I can't give you any advice.

And it looks like there isn't anyone else from the Furness area in Cumbria either.

Hi andybob.

Like Monica I can't help.

Probably not much consolation but there are some on here who take a whole heap of tablets for their various conditions.🙂

As for the script, I'm afraid it's standard practice to only issue enough meds for 4 weeks. Some are lucky enough to get more but I'm requesting stuff at least every couple of weeks because my statins and ramipril are 28 days supply, my needles only last 3 weeks at the most, test strips around the 4 week mark and insulin probably every couple of months or so.

SO, unfortunately, although the NHS can't yet offer anything that will remove the need to take the meds for life, they're only prepared to gamble on us still wanting them for a month. 🙄

Doesn't give you much hope for their belief in us really 😉

But that doesn't take away from the fact that we all need to have a rant about it occasionally, and that in itself helps a little. So, go for it my old son !:D

Hi andybob, I'm not quite in Furness but not far away as my username suggests. I have been told of a local group and will make some enquiries. When I find out, I'll let you know.

I've recently joined this forum and find it very useful.
