Anyone else really struggle in the heat of summer ?

I am not a fan of the heat but I cope with it better if I am fitter and leaner. I also cope with it better if my levels are not too high. BG over 8mmols in the heat of summer and I am not a happy girl, particularly if I am trying to work or exercise. Keeping hydrated is also really important for me to cope in the heat. When it is really hot outside I keep the curtains drawn shut and the windows shut and hide in the cool of the house during the heat of the day when I can..... all this mad dogs and Englishmen going out in the midday sun malarkey... doesn't hold with me!

Yes, I’m not a fan of the heat either. Give me a dry, sunny fresh Spring day over a baking hot, airless Summer day any time! I don’t sweat but I do feel less myself until it returns to normal temperatures.

I have to stay in the shade once its over 20 degrees . The sweat just pours off me .
I have to say I'm the opposite of you, I'm one of the lucky ones that don't sweat and never has done whatever the temperature is. I do try to avoid the heat of the afternoon where possible, It was 23.6c here today but I did manage to do some light gardening and give my bike a wash as well - now sitting in the garden having a rest.

i don't like the sun as i'm a migraineur and its a trigger for me: i can't drink alcohol or smell alcohol. This as well as type 2... thankfully the tachycardia has subsided. The doc thinks it's burned itself out but i think low carb and losing a stone and a half has helped more

I already struggle with the heat due to my asthma, but this will be my first summer with type 2 diabetes as I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last year.
It's also the first time I'm going to visit my fiancé's family after my diagnosis as we go every June.

Thankfully, I can't say I struggle in the heat.
I find my body is pretty good at adjusting.
I currently find 30+ uncomfortable but I have lived in Oz and was ok.until 35. Then I had to find an air conditioned cinema. I watched a lot of movies when I lived there :D

Not at all, I love it.
I've walked 20,000 steps in today's weather and feel fine.
Since losing weight I find sweat doesn't bother me (Used to pour off me.)

I don't drink alcohol either

I have to stay in. I get very frightened. I've turned into a queruous old lady, have to remember to keep quiet and act normal. The thought of the coming heatwaves brings me out in a cold sweat never mind a hot one. The clear blue skies freak me out. I'm possibly going crazy. Good grief. I'll have to do the weeding at night or first thing. Siesta's is the way to go. It's all 'nerves' and stuff, physically I've always gone beetroot in the heat, strangers come up and tell me. Very kind of them. Gits. 🙂

I love a bit of summer warmth. 😎 😎 😎

Some of the peak temps last year were a bit fry-and-egg-on-the-pavement for me though.

I worry about my poor doggies paws!

last summer we had to put out a baby bath with ice cubes for the cat - he kept having a little dip. He's a bengal so he likes water.

It's the humidity I struggle with rather than the heat. Also I lose my appetite in hot weather (which is good for the waistline). I just make sure I drink enough.
